I am trying to learn guitar scales and i have a book that shows all of the mainscales in E and it says you can play these scales anywhere on the fretboard. Just say i learn E Major scale but I want to play A Major – do I just change the root notse and the scale will become A Major scale? and if so does this apply to anywhere on the fretboard?

I wanted to cover my neck and body (maybe even fretboard) in custom graphics. i didnt know if there was a certain type of paint i was supposed to use or what…i wanted to just use like flat model paint or something but would that effect the playability of my guitar? like, ruin the notes by painting the fretboard or take away some of the tone? also i wanted to know if there was like a spray on gloss finish or something like that so that my thumb will still feel the same sliding up the neck. also, should i put like painters tape on the frets (the little metal things that seperate the frets lol i dont know what theyre called) so that they dont get paint onthem or would it be ok just to scratch the paint off? anyone know anything about painting guitars would help…thank you…

I’ve tuned the guitar using a meter and the meter indicates everything is tuned. Is something wrong? I am a guitar newbie.

The strings of my guitar has drifted apart from the fretboard means there is a lot of gap b/w strings and fretboard which makes it difficult to play.Is the neck of my guitar bent.
How can u tell whether the neck of the guitar is bent. If it is can it be rectified. And in future how to avoid this to happen.
Thanks in advance

I bought a new capo for my guitar and it’s started leaving light marks on the fretboard when I use it. Is this a bad thing, and if so, how can i prevent it??

I have two guitars that have this problem and I have seen many others that do to, can anyone tell me why at the location of the fifth fret is there a dentish worn spot that shows up on many guitars?

My acoustic guitar makes quite a screeching noise whenever I move up or down the fretboard when using bar chords (or a chord which particularly slides the low E). Can this be avoided by playing differently, or are the strings at fault (or even the guitar?)?

Hello people. I have an 22 fret electric guitar and I want to tune it to Drop C. I made a quick search on the net and found out that 11-52 strings would be good for this tuning. However the lower strings are loose and they flop a lot. Is this because my guitar’s scale length is shorter than a 24 fretter ? What gauge would you recommend for not floppy strings on a 22 fretted guitar? Thanks in advance.
