I have been playng guitar for about 2 years now and i have beary noticed that i dont really know how to play very well. Im the lead guitarist in my band and iahve noticed that i really dont move around the fretboard alot. I think my lack of scales is finally catching up to me!! can somebody help??and if you are going to start with that scale crap can you please explain in great detail in how to practice, understand and use them. It would be nice if i could know how you came to be such a good guitarist.

I have been playing guitar a little short of a year now. I got my electric guitar for Christmas, making me about 5 months experienced in electric, and almost a year with acoustic. My electric is a Yamaha and I’m looking for something a bit better, quality-wise. I have narrowed it down to two guitars, price doesn’t matter, but I want the best quality instrument.
Guitar 1- http://www.guitarcenter.com/Squier-by-Fe… guitar has an alder body, maple neck, and maple fretboard, if this helps.
Guitar 2- http://www.guitarcenter.com/Squier-by-Fe… This guitar has an agathis body, maple neck, and a maple fretboard.
The main decicion is quality, but if the second guitar isn’t up to par, I really like the butterscotch color and would be pleased with that as well.
Oh, and if you know of any other guitars under 200 that are good quality, please tell me.

Okay i got my guitar some time ago and i ve been trying to learn how to play it and now im trying to tune it and the websites are taking or frets that i have no idea what they are i just need to know what i fret is . Oh god i am so confused. Please im begging you… HELP!!!!

aside from having mind-blowing sound, a want a guitar that has low action [or distance b/t the strings and the fretboard], low-rise frets, THEE smoothest fretboard, and super light strings [i can get the strings meself i guess]. i dont want it to look like a jazz guitar, but if i must …

hi, i got a new eletric squier (beast, i know haha) and im not sure about a few things. like…..
1. does the amp effect the way it sounds or the guitar?
2. how much do pedals go for?
3. how much time does it take to learn pinch harmonics?
4. do i need to know all the notes ont he fretboard?
5.my guitar doesnt sound so rich, how can i make it?

This is a almost-new Dean Vendetta 2.0 that I bought this August. Today I had a High School Jazz band performance and it was working fine, 5 hours later, i start playing some songs in E, and i noticed that the A chord sounded very strange. So then it turns out that the 7th fret on my A string sounds weird and doesn’t play the note, is this a serious problem? or should I only change the strings?

My father and I started building electric guitars and he wants to make a guitar with a flat fretboard, bridge, and nut. Can some one please explain to him why guitars have a slight curve to them? Thank You!!!

I recently stumbled across a Yamaki acoustic guitar at a garage sale. I have tried looking it up on the internet. I have found nothing. Usually with a guitar there is sticker with the model number under the sound hole. On this particular model, it is stamped in black ink under the fretboard inside the guitar (so you have to tilt the guitar to see it.) The Model number is YW-30 140901. Just wondering if anyone has a little more information on this guitar. It looks a lot like the Yamaki AY370S that I found on a completed listing on eBay. my friend was offered an electric guitar with a cheap price … but the guy who wants to sell it said it has 16 fret … soo .. does that mean the guitar is good ? should my friend buy it ?

I saw it in a magazine and it looks like one of the outlawed ibanez before they had to change the neck. I think it might be worth more than i thought.
