Does Anyone Have A Link For Guitar Note Reading?

By that, I mean, if they can teach or tell me how to pick out a G-note off the fretboard (like sheetmusic, not tabs, for guitar). So, if you could answer, please do. Thanks.

Tuning A Guitar And (ex.) “old 5th Fret And Make 4th String Sound Like It” Does It Have To Sound Exactly Alike?

The pitch has to be the same or it isn’t in tune. The sound quality (timbre) will be a bit different since the A string is thinner than the low E string, but the pitch should be the same.
Anyone at a guitar shop should be cool with showing you how to tune a guitar.

Why Does My Guitar Go Out Tune When I Use A Capo?

Posted: February 10th, 2010 | Author: admin | Filed under: Guitar Fret | Tags: , , , , | 4 Comments »

Well actually I know the answer… As i get higher up the fretboard of my fairly new accoustic guitar the pitch seems to to get slightly higher than what it should be such that by the time I reach C on the bottom E, its almost a C#. My guitar isnt the best but its OK (£150+) Is this a common problem and is there a way to get it fixed?

Does Anyone Out There Actually Sight Read Guitar Music?

Posted: February 5th, 2010 | Author: admin | Filed under: Guitar Fret | Tags: , , , , , , , | 2 Comments »

I’ve been playing classical guitar for some time now, but only recently started using actual music instead of tablature. I also play the violin. Being a monophonic instrument, you usually can sight read music pretty fast as you take it one note at a time. On the guitar on the other hand you have to find the precise note on the fretboard which the music is refering to and you have to play more than one note at a time a lot of the time… you also have to set up your fingering (RH & LH) to prepare for coming sections etc. So my question is…. does any really sight read Guitar music and not “study” it?? I mean is it reasonable to want to look at a score and play it through the first time you see it? (because this fairly easy with the violin)

Does Your Guitar Buzz Around Certain Frets?

Posted: February 4th, 2010 | Author: admin | Filed under: Guitar Fret | Tags: , , , , , , | 3 Comments »

I bought a 700$ guitar and it still buzzes. My guitar teacher said that just about all guitars buzz around certain frets no matter how expensive it is. Does anyone have a guitar that does not buzz.
