What Is The Best Way To Memorize The Fret Board On A Guitar?

Posted: February 16th, 2010 | Author: admin | Filed under: Guitar Fret | Tags: , , , , , | 8 Comments »

Use the dots. On some guitars, there are dots on 3, 5, 7, 9 and 12. (Some guitars don’t have dots on the 3rd fret)
I would say learn what notes are at the dotted frets first on all the strings. Maybe just concentrate on the first four strings at first:
E string: G, A, B
A string: C, D, E
D string: F, G, A
G string: B-flat, C, D
The 4 lowest strings are the easiest and follow a pattern. Once you hit the B-string everything is offset (pattern-wise) by a half-step.
On each note, going down a fret will sharp or flat the note.
Good luck!

What Are The Best Tone Settings To Make My (fretted) Bass Guitar To Sound Fretless?

I’ve noticed that playing flat sounds good, with a bit of vibrato… but I want to know if there is a better tone I can get to make it sound even closer to a fretless.

It must be great for playing blues, jazz, and slide, with a small, fast fretboard for small fingers. Looking for the best value for less money that will last for years.

I have a flat fretboard, steel string accoustic guitar. Do I need to buy a capo specifically for a steel stringed? I want one that I can change positions quickly.
